About The Artwork
“Tropical” is a botanical abstract painting depicting a lush rainforest in Maui, Hawaii, the second-largest island of Hawaii. The island is full of thriving rainforests, valleys, majestic volcanic craters, towering seaside cliffs, and postcard-perfect beaches. The artist's intent is to bring out all powerful emotions using a combination of yellow and aqua shades. Aqua, (water in Latin), is a variation of cyan that sits between green and blue in the color wheel, two of the colors best expressing the emotions generated by the landscape views. The artist used acrylics and gesso to create this unique work of art, adding experimenting with techniques like spatulas to create dimension and depth and a sense of movement. This abstract painting is sure to make a statement in any room. With its bold colors and unique texture, it will add interest and intrigue to your space.

Alessia Sersanti was born and raised in Rome, Italy, in 1973 where she learned how to paint from her mother who was a local artist in Rome during the 70’s. She is a painter and a fashion designer. As a painter, she studied Renaissance painting techniques from a local artist in Rome, where she developed a love for the expressive potential of abstract art. As a designer, she designed a line of luxury women’s handbags for the Asian market entirely manufactured in Italy and launched her own brand in 2017. Alessia currently lives with her family in Kirkland, WA working as a professional artist.
