About The Artwork
The work is inspired by the artists of The Style (De Stijl) and Mirò. I hope the viewers will feel a sense of lightness and joy when looking at the painting. The work will look its best set against a white wall and in a floating frame. The painting has not been framed, because a floating frame will make it to heavy to transport. The painting is ready to hang however. It has a simple construction on the backside that can be slided over a hook on the wall.

Marcia van Dijk was born in 1961 and lives and works in Leiden NL. After a distinguished career in law she rediscovered her passion for creating art that had long been dormant. She is a conceptual artist: concrete and non objective. Marcia van Dijk creates drawings, paintings and graphics. Her work is aesthetic and emphasizes clarity of coulors. Straight lines and geometrical figures fascinate her and she has a striking sense of coulor. She finds her inspiration in the early abstract painters of the 20th century: Mondriaan, El Lissitzky, Kandinsky, Klee, Malevich. The compositions are created intuitively. In her work she brings the three-dimensional back to the two-dimensional. Her graphic works primeraly consist of monoprints. This printing technique results in unique images.
