About The Artwork

I started a serie of people called the lost angels. But realized that I had to put another text. People have been very lost with all that is going on in the world but there is hope in their eyes for a better future.............. I loved to paint them in oil. I could work on the faces and mostly I painted them with my fingers. I did use the brushes once in a while but I loved to work with my own hands.....

Swedish painter and illustrator Helena Hötzl grew up in a small town on the Swedish West Coast. She spent much of her childhood in pain and underwent a lot of surgery, using her dreams and art as a means to satiate a hunger for escape. Having been contacted by Saatchi Gallery in London she found the boost she needed to make her dreams reality. Her art went international with her first exhibition being held in Budapest with Opera Gallery in 2008 and shortly after for the World Art Foundation in the USA: She also participated in several shows at the Gallery 9 in Los Angeles. The empathy that she received from others, especially other women, motivated Hötzl to reach out and get involved with a variety of global organizations that support and enpower women, including Action Aid, Cover girls for change and the Peace Project. Her art has been featured in New York Artz Magazine and she has exhibited in galleries across the US and Europe. Now having my own gallery in Hedefors Sweden. www.helenahotzl.com, www.hhsgallery.com
