What a Pear 59 Print

How will you define your body if you were an object? Why? These two questions are the beginning of more than 1 hundred illustrations. They make reference to my life and our society, from my point of view and suffering from an eating disorder, which have been consuming me for a lot of years. I call them “my art-therapy”. Through them, I express my oppressed feelings and hidden emotions. Each one of them has a small reflexive text to help the observers and interact with them, their experiences and opinions. What a Pear 59 talks about... How many types of pears exist? There are Packham pears, Bosc pears, Red Blush pears, Red Bartlett pears, Asian pears, Limonera pears, Comice pears, Williams pears, Red Anjou pears and Conference pears. Isn’t it amazing all that diversity among pears? Each one is different and unique. None is better than the other. Besides, all differences are what makes them beautiful. I believe strength lies in differences, not in similarities. We should embrace diversity and inclusion, we should tolerate and respect everyone. Even though we may have different religions, languages, colored skin, sizes, sexes, ages and beliefs, we shouldn’t become a melting pot but a lovely mosaic.
