About The Artwork

I only use professional quality pigments and mediums. Usually Old Holland, Williamsburg (my favourite) or Michael Harding. Mediums used is usually Walnut oil and or Linseed oil. Occasionally I will use Old Masters medium from Zecchi Flirenze (Florence Italy) which includes some Canada Balsam resin for lustre. Almost all of my en plein air paintings are done on plywood panel and always prepared either with classic rabbit skin glue gesso, if bought from Zecchi's or with Michael Harding's acrylic gesso, which is an excellent second-best option. Larger studio paintings are done usually on linen, canvas or a blend of the two. I love to use a variety of brushes, from hog's hair, synthetic, ox hair, sable or badger. All canvasses come shipped with hangers to be hung frameless. These can be removed if one wishes to frame. Depending on the size of the canvas, it will be shipped stretched on the stretcher bars or rolled with stretchers included, to be re-stretched at the buyers convenience.
