About The Artwork

In this watercolor painting, I've employed a harmonious palette of earthy browns, soft greens, and subtle pinks to suggest a landscape that is both grounding and ethereal. My brushwork centers on what may be interpreted as a tree or botanical form, using loose strokes to convey its organic essence and dynamic growth. Around this focal point, I've layered translucent washes of color, capturing the transient beauty of light at either dawn or dusk. I aimed for the piece to exude a spontaneous and impressionistic feel, allowing viewers to explore the shapes and hues through their individual lens of imagination.

CV I am entranced by the human psyche. My life as an artist has forever oscillated between objective and non-objective; however, the central theme of my work has always been the emotions that surround the painting--both in the process of creating the work and the emotions elicited from the viewer. Through my use of color, marks that are full of energy and movement, and expressive titles, my artwork expresses emotions that I have no words for. I channel emotions through visual elements alone, without objective subject matter. Abstract emotions take hold best in abstract paintings. It is my desire, through my work, to promote self-reflections on a visceral, more than a purely intellectual level. Education B.A. Art (Ceramics), Fort Hays State University B.S.
