About The Artwork

This painting is called Wrecking ball and reflects the idea of perpetual creation and destruction. I generate an artificially created synchronicity, which results in a new universe, an experimental space, a cosmos out of chaos, order out of disorder, and the image itself is the gateway to this newly created universe, functioning as a separating and transmitting membrane at the same time between our reality and the world it encloses. All these creations thus represent a small universe, an objectively existing microcosm, which is an experiment, an opportunity to explain and show the invisible, the intangible, the ineffable.

I was born in 1979 in Brașov. Graduated at the painting department of the George Enescu University of Arts in Iași in 2009, and in 2014 obtained a master's degree in painting at the same institution. During university studies, - fed up and disgusted by the amazingly detailed, daring but in many cases sterile and self-repeating visual world of hyperrealism (the continuation pop art's cold spirit of alienation and irony) - obtained an Erasmus scholarship to Bilbao, Spain. This scholarship projected me in an environment where my flickering desire to flirt with abstraction, which could not unfold completely and freely within the boundaries of my home university, suddenly gains space due to the open and experimental environment I find there. As a result of this time, impressions, experiments and experiences in Bilbao, my curiosity guided me towards new territories to explore. Thus, my main support in the search for a new path was represented by the work of artists such as Manolo Millares, Antoni Tápies, Alberto Burri or Mark Rothko - to name a few - works whose world and spirituality was closest and suited the most, and blended better with the world of my soul.
