--- This is a picture from the series Paris. I explore with vivid and childlike curiosity, the beloved and less known places in the French capital. Every picture is a single, long exposure shot. Without using a tripod or any other support, the photos are taken in movement, just heading towards and inside high-interesting situations to my eyes. I’m blurring my pictures not only as a ruse for mixing things up, but mostly for cleaning up the photo from all the non-essential details and receive shades of what’s outside to enhance the imaginary, the dream state; disassemble the reality and set it up again, shift the focus and make sense. My photographs are about trajectories and intersections, bodies and thoughts, just skimming, mixing pushing them back. Nevertheless, it’s not about to create an atmosphere, but to alter reality. I try to escape the traps of reality, while retaining a link with it. Because the pictures are not inventions, but meeting points. Hence, every picture sketches out the vibes of my exploration of the urban space. Printed in an high-end prints workshop in Paris, to guarantee highest museum quality in art prints. Produced on museum grade photo paper Canson Baryta Photographique complies with the ISO 9706. With 5cm white boarder each side, in order to facilitate putting the photo in frame. « There is no world without Verona walls, but purgatory, torture, hell itself. Hence-banished is banished from the world, and world’s exile is death. » This was Shakespeare wrote in Romeo and Juliet about Verona, the charming Italian town where I had the chance to grow up. Today I live in Paris, where I moved for love, and I must say… it’s not so bad! Inspired since childhood by the exemple of my father, a passionate amateur photographer, I attended the School of Applied Arts in my hometown, and finally the University of Architecture of Venice: all this has allowed me to fine-tune my sense of aesthetics and my taste for beauty. Because a good photo is a visual poetry: perhaps, after all, it’s an excuse to stop and watch the world with fascination.
