About The Artwork
PANDEMIC ILLUSION, an exhibition of fractalized microscale photography by Michelle Aubert. With attention to detail, Aubert evokes new formal developments in the historical tradition of art. Although her work focuses on common objects, her sensitive and introspective gaze transforms them into a new complex universe of possibilities within abstraction. The photographs on display that make up this series belong to distorted images of common objects that interacted with the artist during the pandemic. Where an extrasensory perception is born, taking a fragment to an image with multiple interpretations, creating an optical illusion that leads the subject to make their own interpretation of it. Aubert questions the repetitive situations in which we find ourselves as human beings, trying to find acceptance through ephemeral media and digital platforms that have only led us to settle for a type of virtual recognition, losing sensitivity to our environment. This is how a dialogue of gratitude, importance, and connection with the source is created.

I am creative by nature, I was born in Toluca, Edo. From Mexico. Since I was little I always had an explorer soul, full of restlessness towards discovery. At the age of 19 I decided to take a trip to the old continent to forge my path starting with a career in fashion styling and visual merchandising at the "Central Saint Martins College of ART" university in London, where I started in the fashion industry. In 2010 I returned to Mexico and began my career as a content creator along with other projects related to fashion, I am currently known as an influential fashion personality in Mexico. My passion for fashion and design have led me to work with international luxury brands, my work and experience have led me to develop incredible projects as a digital content creator, fashion stylist, speaker, international communication consultant to become an owner from a concept store that went from being a physical one to an online platform due to the pandemic. As a creative person, there comes a moment of change that makes me evolve and see life differently. That is why today I have not limited myself to working only with fashion, but the visual arts, especially photography, has become one of my most relevant forms of expression.
