Alpha and Omega Print

Born in Metz, Lorraine; native of Paris, he spend his chilhood abroad. After four years in Netherlands and eleven years spent in Germany, he returns in France with his family. Very early confronted with the cultural contrasts, he keeps from abroad an acute sense of observation, of the different behaviors and lifestyles. It's during his History studies that he is gonna build up a link with the photography, considering the fact that the observation domain of an historian is very close in reality, to the photographer's vision. Both observes the events and produce testimonies ans analyses. The glance of the historian and the photographer are for him, complementary. Also, he realises very quickly that historian work, for the contemporary period, will be now strictly connected to the photography due to the audiovisual revolution. The observation eventually win against the research and he decides to follow a Reporter Photographer training. His work today, essentially results from a double inheritance: a multicultural consciousness of the arts acquired abroad and his History studies. His photos directly traduces what's summarizes the best culture of a country : THE ARCHITECTURE. The Architecture is the fruit of a period of past techniques, of an aesthetic relationship which is passed on or not, of a state of mind which continues or fades away. In the present it is irreparably translated for him, by a superimposition of periods (in a strata way) the whole creating our daily environment. We evolve day by day in this one, and very often without perceiving the contrasts which results from it and consequently of our own specificity. For France, Paris is the quintessence of the French culture, although it is not everything ! His objective: make you looking up, to see you prefering to look at the absence of a real dullness which is existing when you circulate in Paris rather than to look endlessly to the ground. Every frontage, every details testify and speak to us about what we were, what we are and what we wish to pass on tomorow in the stone.
