About The Artwork

Having moved to Australia in 2010, I've always had a fascination with Sydney and its incredible architecture. I was spending the day wandering around trying to find unique ways of capturing these amazing landmarks, which have been photographed millions of times already, I try to find new angles or something different to do justice to their heritage. Generally I prefer photographing at night and given the activity around the Opera House, I decided to try some long exposure shots with my Lee 'big stopper' filter, hoping it would soften the image and remove the boats and people from the busy harbour. The presence of clouds in the sky provided an added bonus - so often Sydney is blessed by clear blue skies but result in a flat image. This image was exposed for 105 seconds at f25 (ISO 64) on a Tamron 70-200mm lens mounted to my D810. I hope you enjoy it.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I was born near a small country village in the Irish Midlands (County Westmeath), growing up with my younger brother and sister, I always enjoying the outdoors. Whether cycling to the hurling pitch, discovering old ruins, helping on the farm or learning to drive at 4! - I developed a love of travel, landscapes and nature. Later in life, I discovered 35mm film cameras and started to experiment with Wabi-sabi and capturing landscapes that most people miss. I look for the natural and often overlooked beauty in every-day scenery when composing photograph. I moved to Australia in 2010 and continue to travel with the company of my wife and two dogs.
