Just out of lock-down May 2020. Clearest image I ever took, when I zoomed in and saw the eyes of the pigeons and screamed with excitement. Freedom. That's what this image represents, free from restriction. Photography is Real life. See what I see.

Digital Photographer Passion for Landscapes and Portraits. My memories of flipping through albums when I was 2 or 3, were always there but I did not see the purpose of the memory. Cameras were always placed in my hands to make memories at primary school and my art teacher lending me his camera when looking for inspiration or taking out cameras at college for the fun of it, or my best friend giving me a camera for my birthday to my uncle making me take pictures at a church events. Even then I had no idea all those things would contribute to me writing an ‘About me’ and creating an online gallery for you. My name is Melissa Ann Weir, currently 27 years of age turning 28 in a few months but let us not talk about that. I came to Derby from Jamaica at the age 8 years old. I enjoy traveling, I am very shy, but I am learning to be the person that I need to be. I studied Fashion and Textiles at Burton and South Derbyshire College and nearly went down the wrong path and got a degree in Fashion, Textiles and Accessories at De Montfort University. My life has been a whirlwind since leaving university after my first year. My photography style is just what I find beautiful. I say that I show people what I see and how I feel looking at that image. Sometimes I put more work in post-production on some images that others. I think I need more of a balance. I am constantly critiquing what I have produced. That is how we develop. I want to have my photography up in galleries and installed in a grubby cold warehouse somewhere. My first photography exhibition was in a warehouse in Derby at the Format international festival, and it was so beautiful to me. I had my work shown at that same festival in a market hall and it just was not the same feeling. I hope you will support so that we can visit my photography in a cold and grubby warehouse one day. Thank you for coming! BYE!
