Hyperconsumption Photograph

Inspired by one of the most traditional themes in the history of art - still life -, the visual artist and photographer Vitor Rosa, in this series of works, takes an analytical look at the problematic relationship between consumer culture and environmental conservation. Aesthetic aspects of an attitude that takes nature as a source of beauty and inspiration are contrasted with elements that, here, intend to denounce the degradation of the environment promoted by societies economically based on rampant consumption, waste of raw materials and constant abuse of the environment. Questions about the clash of economic interests, social artificialities and misleading advertising are elaborated in compositions that juxtapose beauty and existential impasse.
