About The Artwork

The Wadden Sea has every moment of the day a different look. The island of Terschelling is visible on the horizon. I wanted to catch the colors of the often beautiful sunset in a different way, more like a painting. That was for me the reason to manipulate this photo to what it is now, a colorful atmospheric photo. The photo will be printed on 310gr/m2 Canson Rag Photographique photo paper. It is signed, numbered and provided with a certificate of authenticity.

I was born in Amsterdam and now live in Wijk en Aalburg (Brabant). Photography was not initially what attracted me when I had to choose a profession. The choice became "to do something" with nature. Ultimately, it became its own landscaping company. My heart was, and still lies, with nature. In 2013, I decided that I wanted to take my photography to the next level and also take it commercially. I then followed a training at the School Voor Fotografie [School For Photography] in Breda (NL). Since then I have been doing photography alongside my paid job and working as a freelance photographer. I have taken a number of workshops - portrait photography, macro photography and documentary photography, and I still take occasional workshops and courses over the internet. Nowadays I prefer to work in documentary series. I am not the kind of photographer who always carries his device in his pocket to capture that special moment. I come up with a subject, make a plan and then take the photos. The preparation takes a lot of time and then the post-processing.
