(Please be noticed it takes approximately one or three weeks to get ready for shipment) Inspired by Artemisia Gentileschi’s “Judith Slaying Holofernes” painting. (For original painting, you can visit the museum’s link: https://www.uffizi.it/en/artworks/judith-beheading-holofernes) The dying man is Holofernes, an enemy of the Israelites in the Old Testament, and the young woman beheading him is Judith, his divinely appointed assassin. Yet at the same time he is also an Italian painter called Agostino Tassi, while the woman with the sword is Artemisia Gentileschi, who painted this. It is, effectively, a self-portrait. Artemisia Gentileschi is one of the most influential women artists whose life and art affect me the most. The expression of the stories, effects and emotions in her paintings are one of the most important features that make her paintings different. When you look at her paintings, if you don't hear her screaming means that you don't understand her. This scream is about 400 years old. I'm one of those women who heard this scream. In my works, I give an importance to her feelings and screams...
