About The Artwork
On my 25th birthday I woke up and looked out the window to see this clothesline of white sheets blowing in the summer breeze. It seemed quite poetic that as I turned a quarter of a century old, I should encounter a tradition that has spanned many generations. As an artist, I am drawn to the beauty in the banal, and few things are as simple, elegant, familial, nostalgic and whimsical as a clothesline in the summer.
