La arena - Limited Edition 1 of 5 Print

The nostalgia of the traditions in Mexico drove me to do this series, in and abandoned cock fight arena, caught in the middle of the concrete jungle. Once a place full of dreamers, drunks and gamblers, I brought the representation of the characters that once attended every week to re-enter context one last time. This photo captures the whole scenario, the ruins of a place whose golden era is long gone, a venue meant for a tradition thats dying with the new generations for its brutality, cock fighting. In the middle of the arena where thousands of chickens died and hundreds of showmans came to sing, you can spot the photoshoot crew and the equipment, saying good bye to that majestic place. The whole series was shot in film even dough digital photography was the new go to media. Everything was processed in the dark room by hand. And the final print was scanned to make the large prints. Each photo of the series has 5 prints in this size, numbered and signed by the author.
