With around 3.5million passengers passing through it everyday, Shinjuku Station in Tokyo is the world's busiest. Masses of people pour out of it from all sides day and night. The only thing that holds up the herds of commuters who weave int and out of each other like shoals of fish, are the traffic lights. A society which makes a virtue of patience is seen here up close exercising that virtue. Some tired faces, emotions held in, waiting for the moment of release from having to be held in one place, with a few moments for reflection. Others glad for the chance to slow down and chat or a breather and a chance to check their phone. Lives all held in one place for a brief moment before they all spill out again in separate directions. All held in by that virtue of patience. The original artwork is signed and numbered on the back and printed on photographic paper.
