About The Artwork
Phalanx v. 2.0 is part of a series of gum bichromate photographic prints made from b&w negatives originally shot in Joshua Tree National Park in February 2016. The series takes inspiration from talk of the “martian landscape” the artist heard prior to her visit as well as reflections on our current climate crisis and potential future landscape following her visit. These images portray a potential future landscape as imagined by the artist.
