Church of Saints Constantine and Helena was used as a sports hall during the Soviet era. In my opinion there is no separation of my works as different projects, they can be defied as «series» by place or period of time. Street photography for me is endless, it is one big project of my life, that will continue as long as I work. I am collecting moments with my photographs and it seems to me that they are sincere and eloquent. I never give names to my works and often capture pictures while listening to music in my headphones. It is a way to take my mind off all the surroundings and concentrate. Being a street photographer I feel like I'm an artist and scientist at the same time. Anthropologist, I guess, because I examine a human being, its origins, habitat, cultural environment, its evolution and degradation. My favorite thing about capturing people is the moment, when I shoot them before they realize it, when I do not have eye contact with them, but have this unique emotional connection that is almost subconscious. I see beauty everywhere, not just in what you can say is a «beautiful» moment. Ive had some rough patches in my life and I’ve learned that beauty lies in the most unexpected and unpredictable moments. I often prefer a bit dirty aesthetics, because it feels real to me. As far as I'm concerned there is as much beauty in a homeless man as there is in a flower. My eye travels a lot, even if this journey is my way from a studio back home. I walk a lot and shoot a lot and try not to miss anything. I tried to do what I think is real, truthful and bold, because it is my goal to be honest in photography.

Ukraine
I was born in Starokonstantinov, Ukraine in 1989, two years before the fall of the Soviet Union. When I grew up I realised how much its dissolution influenced my own feeling of aesthetics. During childhood years I’ve changed two high schools, where I studied history of art and travelled with my family. It was at that time that I had my first photo and video cameras and started documenting things around me. The area I lived in had industrial buildings and railway tracks, my memory holds those images until today and impacts the perception of my surroundings. Later I studied Public Services in my local Technical College, which unexpectedly started my career as a chef. Ive worked in this sphere for a long time and was in charge of catering for three presidents of Ukraine. I was a cook but still liked to document everything that surrounded me. At some point in my life I decided to leave cooking and devoted all the time to photography and video. I understood that my heart lies in street photography. The ability to make anthropological research, to study environment, peoples’ reactions and emotions amazes me. I explore streets everyday, seeking particular details, which could appear in shadows, wrappers, peoples actions or emotions, or in the most unexpected places invisible to passersby.
