About The Artwork

For a long time I worked as an art director at an advertising agency that was distant from my home. I spent a lot of time in the traffic jam so I decided to photograph the landscapes of this path and created the project # 1hdepaisagem that resulted in situational photographs where the movement of the city defines the click. In this section of Copacabana beach, in Rio de Janeiro, the landscape is covered by a temporary structure mounted on the sand and causes the viewer a certain confusion when managing to identify the beach promenade but not being able to distinguish the landscape. The photograph was printed in March 2017 with Lucia EX-type mineral pigment inks, on a Canon IPF8400 printer, on Hahnemuhle Etching 350g / m2 cotton paper, a set that reaches and exceeds the ISO 9706 standard and has been certified for more than 120 years, proven by tests from the “Wilhem Imaging Resarch” and “Aardenburg Imaging & Archives” institutes.

Lia Berbert has always had her career in the art world. In her childhood, she studied drawing and painting at the traditional Parthenon art and culture center in Niterói-RJ, an activity that she interrupted due to an allergy to paints and solvents. At the age of 18 she joined the School of Fine Arts at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ, graduated in Design five years later. She worked in several segments of the visual communication market as a designer and art director, and currently focuses her career in the visual arts. Her most consistent work uses photography, digital art, collage and painting as tools for the development of her language, but she is not afraid of experimentation. For that, seeks improvement in courses like the one she has already done at IED - European Design Institution and at EAV - School of Visual Arts at Parque Lage. The main characteristics of her works are vibrant colors, innovation and an interest in shapes, a legacy of Design.
