Rembobine / Rewind (So 80's) - Cyanotype Print

This is my first series using cyanotype. Using the beautiful May sunshine to print using this old technique. I particularly love the deep blue produced by the reaction with UV rays from the sun. Usually, cyanotype is used for botanic subjects and photography (printing negatives). I wanted to experiment with everyday objects and give them some symbolic. A good old cassette. A Bic pen. These are today symbols of a generation. A Gen X meme on social media. I added the transparent box which you can see when looking more closely. Like a subtitle. When you know, you know. I wanted to play on that, and also see what memories it brings back. Nostalgia. In a reflective time for me. What was our world? What are we leaving behind, us born in the 70's? Tons of good music. But also tons of plastic garbage. What are we passing on? I might still just be a tortured 90's grunge kid.
