The subject of the image is a woman sitting in an imaginary landscape, surrounded by masks and imaginary beings. This is one of a series of images I have made by scanning drawings into a computer, and using the software to manipulating them; making changes to the image that explore the process of image making itself, and trying to open up new possibilities which go beyond the original conception. Working in this way one is forever surprising oneself with the results attained, the computer takes the place of the pen, or the pencil, and is become a creative tool in its own right.
