About The Artwork

his work is a journey of self-discovery and self-expression. Motivated by an existential need to understand the human ego's many and often incompatible sides. The piles of clothes –a dominant element– in most of this work, are all about our identity, emotions, and pivotal choices that echo our different and often unbearably demanding roles which we embody in our social and private life, with the naked body – house of our soul suggesting the possibility to allow ourselves to emerge-evolve free out of the burden. All works are giclées produced by the artist on archival 100% museum quality paper mounted on aluminum in limited editions. Each print is signed and numbered in pencil on verso and guaranteed by a certificate of authenticity.

Born and raised in Athens, I took up the camera in the early 1980s and a couple of years later I began my formal training in photography while studying Topography at The National Technical University of Athens (1983-1989). My work is motivated by an existential need to express myself and connect with others, and understand the many and often incompatible sides of the ego, in a journey of self-discovery and self-expression. My intention is to create work that facilitates intimacy with the viewer and encourages empathy. Since my first solo exhibition in 1988, my work has been presented in many group exhibitions and 7 solo shows and I have been awarded international awards and distinctions. I have published 3 photographic albums and 4 Artbooks. Some of my works are in public and private collections. Member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.
