About The Artwork

Inspired by the twenties style... The photo is depicted with a sterlizia and plastic for florists, in order to make the image less nested and with a more aged taste. Even the background has been treated to restore the flavor of the 20s.

I’m a 44 years old photographer from Rome, Italy. I’m mainly involved in portrait photography, storytelling and fashion. My first approach to photography was pretty natural and easy, because I have always been attracted to painting and art. I love the colors of Hammershoi, the shades of Millais, Rossetti , Waterhouse and the light of Caravaggio. The style that I prefer is romantic and conceptual. Photography allows me to express my creativity and over the years I realized how important it is. My style is simple, it does not tend to surprise, but to treasure atmospheres, sensations. I really like to shoot in color, I always study the combinations before each set. I try to train my visual culture through different sources: painting, movie, illustration or, more simply, Nature. My favorite illustrators are Benjamin Lacombe and Wiesenfeld. I also love contemporary art and street art. I think it is important to capture something from every form of art, which although apparently has nothing to do with photography, remains somewhere in mind and can influence the way you shoot. I dedicate a lot of time to the selection of my shots, trying to complete it in several days, in order to have a more detached vision of the work and not to be influenced by first impressions. I also pay attention to post production, but I do not always look for perfection. More than the technique, I am very transported by the mood and by what the subject is able to offer me.
