About The Artwork
The work was inspired by Slavic mythology and rituals during the wedding day. By leaving the family home and going to a new home, the bride had to go through several initiation steps in order to appease the demons and be accepted into the new cult of ancestors. If the bride is not accepted into her new home she would become homeless without the opportunity to return to her family home.
