12 January 2022: The cradle of our species was in Africa, but it is unclear when the first representative of anatomically modern Homo sapiens emerged there. Now (2022), a re-dating of the oldest Homo sapiens fossil from East Africa provides new clues. The fossil found in the Omo-Kibish formation in Ethiopia is at least 230,000 years old - and thus about 35,000 years older than previously assumed. He could therefore have been one of the first truly modern representatives of our species.

I've been taking pictures since my school days, first analog, now digital with my Nikon. I live in Berlin, since the fall of the Wall, it has been the capital of Germany again. I like the big city life, the tourists, the traffic, the houses, and the clubs. I post my pictures on Facebook and currently also in a few international competitions.
