About The Artwork

The presented image is a salt print made from a wetplate collodion negative image on glass. The salt print is one of the most archival printing processes and is famous for it's lovely brown tones. The image evokes the connection between man and nature where man can help or destroy the nature it lives in. Nature will continue to plant trees and grow despite manking taking down tree after tree. But the collaboration between nature and man is the only sustainable way for us to survive. The image is part of the ongoing project "A Portrait Of A Tree" where I locate isolated in interesting objects of nature and try to evoke a subjectivity to them.
