apache faraon Print

This sculpture is started during the christmas holiday in 2013, it's made of water based clay and about life size. I started it with the idea of making an apache from around 1700-1800. As a historic person I had Mangas Coloradas in my mind. And for us who know him (I quess some dutch and germans mide have heart from him) a leading figure in the comic books from Hans G. Kresse. A Faraon headman by the name of Chaka.. I think in the end the sculpture became a bid more Chaka than Mangas. Mostly because there are no pictures of Mangas so there is no telling how this great man looked. And I do not want to be one pretending to know. Chaka is the headman of the apache subgroup of Faraons in the dutch comic books of my childhood times from the late Hans Kresse. If you ever come upon one of his books it's well worth a look.
