About The Artwork

My husband and I once thinking to create a sculpture to highlight the social issue of our society. We decided to work on "Stribhrun Hatya" the limelight issue. This issue inspired us to create my new sculpture "Earth Balance". My husband and I, were thinking to devise a way. While discussing on this issue we both had different view-points. Thus we decided to take the opinion of my father's friend the ace sculptor, Mr. Ashok Kale. He listened to our views on this subject & he agreed with my husband's thoughts & then he advised us that a sculpture should gives a feel like we are reading a book. After which I started creation a sculpture "Earth Balance" as per his suggestion. A human model for this sculpture is my dearest friend Ms. Dimple Koli. It takes 15 days for me to sculpt her, out of which 5 days to sculpt infant's sculpture & 10 days for python. It took us over a month. As a model, Dimple gave a warm motherly look to the infant which was heart throbbing. I felt that she can create a good career in acting industry. This sculpture holds a great importance in my life. In real sense, it adds "Earth Balance" to my life. I submitted this sculpture to Ms. Supriya Sule on Woman's Day 8 March 2013 for her "Lek Wachava Campaign" through our area corporator Mr. Subhash Jagtap. Our Ex Central Minister Mr. Sharad Pawar & Mrs. Supriya Sule has appreciated me on woman's day 08/03/2013. The is an original fiber sculpture made by the artist sculptor supriya shinde and the art work is available in metal casting only for sale. The material that was used 400 years ago to make sculptures, the same material is used to cast sculptures by supriya shinde from her original handmade sculpture by the process called "The Lost Wax".
