About The Artwork
In a recent trip to England, I visited the British museum and saw the Egyptian wing I quickly pull my drawing pad and this was reveal to me. The egg is formed nearly 300 mini sterling silver Anks, each of them individually solder. Two sterling silver disc separate the egg and half secure by a scarab hinge. Inside the egg a light green glass well, on top three Bronze Anks enamel within the pear shape space. the top of the anks can be pull apart revealing an opening to place fluids or small jewelry. Below the glass bulb a intricate vine sporting the lotus and papyrus flowers. The two Silver vultures or "neret"typically associated with the goddess Nekhebet, guard the egg with their wings gracefully open. Below the egg a bronze cobra,Together with the vulture they symbolized the unification of the two lands in Egypt. this handmade masterpiece stands as tribute to the old masters carver of Egypt
