'To me, self-expression through the use of colour is an act of freedom. Colour is life affirming and speaks to our human experience, soul and spirit.'
Sophia is an abstract artist who has lived in Bristol for twelve years and is inspired by the vibrant creative energy in the city. Sophia uses abstract art and the painting process as a as a means of connecting, moving through and expressing her personal experience through brushwork, texture and the use of colour. Also as a Counselling Psychologist, Sophia uses the self-reflective, relational, humanistic and existential aspects of her work to inform and feedback into her creative process, often working intuitively and spontaneously in the here and now.
Sophia fascinated by the embodied depths, understanding and expression of human experience, which I seek to explore both as a Psychologist and as an Artist.
