ABOUT THE ARTWORK
White-washed aluminum in its capacity as a carrier material and as a storage material, a membrane between below and above, a recording of the absent and a reflection of the present. Due to the natural oxide layer of the aluminum, the shine of the bare structures and contours is permanently retained and they take on the color mood of the respective surroundings. The white ink takes on gray nuances due to the intensive hand polishing and gives the work its final mood. Depending on the type of lighting conditions and the viewing angle, the wall object appears brighter or more subdued. The wall sculpture weighs 3 kg, is signed on the front and on the back with the initials cR and also dated on the back. It is designed for easy mounting on the wall. The mounting elements create an approx. 3 cm deep, effective distance to the wall. The wall sculpture can therefore also be hung on uneven, structured surfaces.
