ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The “Golden Cartilaginous Petals” drawing is the fifth of the series “Forest Gentle Blends”. The series explores textures of the nature in a hybrid association with everyday textures, bringing nature to the urban environment. Sometimes creatures (nautilus), sometimes processes (foam), those organic textures from different environments (sea, air, forest), interact with our lives creating a bridge between worlds and their elements to form new fantastic forms and to lessen the separation between the human environment and nature.

Artistic currents: calligraphic abstraction, abstract expressionism, minimalism, optical art, Zen art Influences: Yayoi Kusama, Eva Hesse, Agnes Martin, Sol le Witt , Gerhard Richter, Jason Pollock, Mark Rothko, Jean-Paul Riopelle Calligraphic Drawings Patterns and moving surfaces are my essential visual elements, naturally reflected in my work. Nature offers the most non-invasive, original, and beautiful patterns. By absorbing these freely, I connect deeply with my subconscious. My drawings capture inner states through abstract patterns, resembling membranes or surfaces in continuous movement. I begin each piece by choosing a monochromatic color, reflecting my current inner state. As I experiment with colors, I gain a deeper understanding of subtle emotions. Building free structures from initial lines, I let them interact and form surfaces that reveal my emotional state—sometimes smooth, other times intense. Using a large nib calligraphic pen, I work in a meditative state, where repetitive movements foster a spontaneous flow. The best results emerge when I vanish into the process, leaving only the emotional state—a truth that connects me to nature.
