ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Artemis/Diana fragmented hunter." Artemis seems to me a symbol of female resistance, worshipped as a goddess of fertility, the virgin goddess managed to remain chaste despite the constant siege of men and gods, hunter representing freedom, with the moon as her crown, called Selene and also Diana. In a world where the value of women is measured by the ability to arouse sexual desire, I find a beautiful figure that I remember in my friends and women I admire, who despite their physical beauty do not depend on it and continue to fight with their talent, their intellect or their spirituality and empathy breaking the hypersexualized molds that seek to pigeonhole us. This acrylic painting has a neon feel I wanted to recreate from digital images, bright colors in traditional painting.
