About Anthony Dunphy

As an artist, I strive to develop paintings that speak, not only to me personally, but also to a much larger segment of society about a wide range of subjects from florals to Classic cars.
My past,as a sailor influences my choice of using water in many of my paintings. Living in Asia has lent a softer quality to my work, especially when it is a nostalgic look back at a simpler time. A love of Country music has seen the introduction of farm scenes, cowboys and trucks to my works as has a lifelong interest in classic cars with an Art Deco flavour.
My finished works are filled with light and vibrant colors to reflect my personal view of the world. Joy is found in every part of my experience and I hope that the feeling conveys itself through my art to all viewers.

Bachelor of Arts, Memorial University of Newfoundland

The Big Band based in L.A. California, The Echo Park Project, has released their latest album featuring my artwork on the cover of Dizzy Gillespie.

I have just received some very exciting news. Two of my paintings will be featured in the Amazon Art show in Grand Central Terminal in New York City from 29 September until 03 October of this year.
This is a curated show from a panel of judges whom are museum curators, Gallery owners, bloggers and Interior decorators. I wish that I could attend in person but Japan is a bit too far.
The items which they chose are both automotive pieces. One is called Hot Rod which features the grill and engine of an old Hot Rod and the other is actually one of my favorites. It is called Going to Surf City and features a Woody wagon with a surfboard strapped to the roof while it heads to the beach.
New news for 2017
The British car show, The Grand Tour will be airing an episode about car art and they have asked me to exhibit some of my car painting on the show. Very exciting opportunity.
