Appreciating Nature/ Nevada

My favorite seasons are autumn and winter, but spring is too colorful for me to ignore. Each year I make pieces that respond to nature in one way or another. Some years they are dances, some years videos, and some years drawings. This year, the spring was long and rainy, which meant that the flowers stayed in bloom for a long time, so I had more time to absorb them and make art about them. These works are not directly from observation, but from the memory of my impression of them. Seeing new sites always inspires me. I have visited Nevada a number of times over the years, and I’ve been trying to capture something of the various environments; desert, mountains, lakes.
