Battery

“The Battery” silkscreen series is made after the eponymous photographic composition of horses inside the cells. The colour combinations and mechanical errors were inspired by the Polaroid photographs with their typical white border and colours that vary from vivid contrasts to mild and opaque tones. The chemical and mechanical mistakes emphasize the uniqueness of instant analogue photography and inspire the use of deliberate mechanical errors; only through the “error” does the particular screen print separate itself from a series and becomes unique. Multiple works of the same dimensions were materialised in a medium of artistic silkscreen with carefully selected images and together represent a multi-piece artwork.
