Twig and Ink series

This series is an absolute joy to create. I use a variety of twigs and dipped in ink to infuse a sense of urgency and rawness into the work. Each drawing comes from an intuitive and almost unconscious place and the figures emerge with their own stories and attitudes as if they've been waiting for me to bring them to life. While I explore themes of feminism, empowerment, darkness, depression and the complexity of love, these drawings are meant to invoke the unique experience and emotions of each viewer. In this way, each person takes away their own meaning which hopefully resonates deeply with how they perceive the world.
