Fragmentos

In Dudu Garcia's paintings, surfaces present themselves as the meeting place of the otherwise unusual encounter between informal abstraction and hyperrealism. The artist portraits the unheed urban landscapes, bringing them to the core of his work. His basic tool during his pictorial research is the dialogue between the effects of time and these surfaces. On his paintings, Dudu uses organic material, such as: rock powder, dust, petroleum, rubber and moss over linen, hemp and cotton canvases. During ArtRio 2019, critic Paulo Herkenhoff selected one piece to join the permanent collection of Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR), mentioning that Dudu "...created a synthetic and sophisticated mechanism to record, through space, the passage of time".
