HER - Scarlett tribute

Barbies are a kitsch icon of the American culture that continues to attract because of their perfect chill, by introducing the American way of life as an ideal world wrapped in order and perfection. Art can mold any object and give it a new meaning. Romy Querol confronts the free forms and warm colors with these cool icons of American retro culture. This disparity between style and content becomes a parable that makes us think about the contradictions of the world in which we live. Pop Art was about using iconic objects of the conservative culture to make an ironic comment on them. Romy Querol breaks that image and frees Barbies educating them in freedom.
