Nocturnal Flowers

When I participated in an artist-in-residence program at Koganecho Bazaar, Yokohama, Japan, I met a Thai migrant worker "Nid". Yokohama was once a destination where Thai people came to work, so Nid took be to the Thai neighbourhood, which has now been transformed into an art district. Yet, what outlives these buildings are trees and flowers surrounding the area as if they are symbols of past-present connection. Although I rarely found traces of Thai migrant workers in Yokohama, I still had these trees and flowers. They acted as an agent, bearing witness to the stories of the city.
