Palermo spirale, cyanotypes 2022

A collection of sumac leaf extract toned cyanotypes from 2022. The images were shot in a systematic way in 7 locations in Palermo, Sicily, on a 1974 Bronica 6x6 camera. They negatives were scanned and cyanotype prints made from digital negatives before toning on 300 g Saunders Waterford watercolor paper. These were then toned in a solution of sumac leaf extract to give the highlights a warm yellow tone while the darker areas are cool gray.
