Resorts
Over the past couple of years I’ve been travelling along Britain’s shoreline photographing seaside resorts.
I focus not on holidaymakers, but on the artefacts that have become signifiers of holidays by the beach in the UK.
These seaside towns seem to change at a much slower pace than the rest of our cultural landscape, offering the illusion of escape or a return to simpler times.
But this contrast only seems to highlight the passage of time, resulting in an often melancholy, doleful sense of nostalgia.
