Seascapes

A series of painting unabashedly inspired by the beauty and calm of the ocean. “The heart of man is very much like the sea, it has its storms, it has its tides and in its depths, it has its pearls too” (Van Gogh). Storms are about the tides and the calm before the inevitable uncontrollable rush of the storm, and the beauty within in. Created with acrylic, acrylic ink and recycled sequins, referencing not only the sparkling of the waves kissed by sunlight, but also the damage we are inflicting on the depths with the micro plastics we have let infiltrate the great oceans.
