Siirtymisiä

The many interwoven layers of time, history, nature, and humanity fascinate me: the depiction of temporal and historical fragments that hover like small shadows at the edge of the focal point, embedded in the all-encompassing regularity of nature. I see these fragments as part of a collective memory from which I draw, reinterpret, and weave them into delicate and fragile spiderwebs of dreamed soul landscapes – like river pebbles constantly being swept together into new patterns. Inspired by primal elements and forms, this series of 18 abstract and representational images on paper has emerged, bearing the title 'siirtymisiä.' This Finnish word means transitions and movement. I also associate it with a process of slow but steady changes.
