Afro Hair & Beauty Show 2003

The series is a documentation of people who attended the Afro Hair and Beauty Show at Alexandra Palace over the May Bank Holiday weekend. This work is a celebration of afro hair and beauty. The subject matter chosen was primarily to document Black Women in a positive light since this was not widely portrayed in media and advertising at the time. Part of an ongoing series which took place from 1998 to 2003.
