The series after the Fall of Icarus is a departure: wet-mounted paper towelsdyed in the colors of a northwest winter. They make the simplest of landscapes,solid only by saturation, anchored only by a horizon line. Each canvas is amood suspended—an expression that passes over a face for the briefest of moments.The effect is quiet but expansive, open, tranquil; a deep breath after beingharried.
