Anthropomorphoscape on the Hudson
Sigmund Freud claims to have seen a vulture in the robes of Mary in Leonardo's painting, "St Ann, Mary and the Infant Jesus". So, based on Leonardo's suggestion that the artist can perceive anything that he wishes to see in an image, I decided to search for it. Well, I discovered much more than the vulture. I saw the aftermath of the WTC disaster. There is a ruin by the river, which is the sacrificial lamb. Smoke rises from a conflagration on the riverbank and boats are sailing along the Hudson river. So, one may compare this painting to Leonardo's masterpiece and see my source of inspiration, but the vulture really is present, lying on its back across Mary's lap.
