Beautiful accidents by Martin Stranka

I like to work with the strong contrast of some kind of a dramatic event and a visual aesthetic. In The series Beautiful Accidents, I took this approach and applied it to a specific thought. Thought on how some of the most important moments of our lives are often the ones that never happened. The series Beautiful Accidents elaborates on this narrative and maps the narrow line between aesthetic beauty and the fateful event. In these deliberately visually unfinished stories I seek the boundary between visual appeal and a dramatic scene that can change human life in an instant. The attempt is to find out to what extent can be aestheticized the accident that the viewer witnesses and thus becomes a part of it.
